The Big Bang of flavours

Since my childhood, I have kept myself locked up in my room with my TV and snacks. My mother would often try to drag me out of my room to go outside, play with friends, spend some time with my siblings and family etc, to which I agreed to go but my least favourite time to spend was in family gatherings.

Family gatherings are occassional meetings set up by our elders to chit chat about work and personal food and drinks but when there are kids like me in the family gatherings food and drinks get lesser attention because it is the only time when the whole joins to roast me. Basically, they point out my stupidities, weird childish behaviour and talk about “mannerisms”.

This is the story about one of my roasty toasty family gatherings where I was least interested to go but it turned out to be one of the best!

My cousin’s grandma’s sister and her son arrived at home to spend some time with us. She got me a really cool t-shirt and some sweets which made me respect them even more.
I and my cousin went to many drives and dinners with them with discussions about politics, Bollywood, scams etc. A day before they were about to leave for their native town we all decided to visit a resort eat starters in front of the swimming pool with loud DJ music all around then main course and dessert in the private hall.
I was not willing to go there from the start because I was well aware of the environment of the poolside diner, the loud music makes my headache and my ears numb and after all this, I cannot concentrate on eating my food.
But I had to go there with everyone since there was no one staying back at home that night. As a result, I did suffer the loud music and headache due to which I couldn’t enjoy eating my galouti kabab.

Finally, there was a relief when we reached the private hall for the main course which I did enjoy a bit until the real deal was about to reveal itself…

While we were on the way to the resort my sister in law told me that she will order some choco lava cake which I didn’t hear clearly until the dessert time arrived.
Elders ordered tutti-fruity, chocolate and butterscotch ice creams for dessert but I wanted something sweet and soothing that night so I ordered a vanilla ice cream.
I had no fantasy for vanilla ice cream in my mind since its simplicity does justice with its taste creamy and milky.

My sister in law asked me to order molten lava fudge and she asked me if I could share it with her. Coming to sweets I never say no so I agreed to give a hand to her despite having ordered a vanilla ice cream for myself.
My ice cream arrived and it was a bit cute garnishing it with rainbow sprinkles on top, it took me to my childhood full of colours, fun and joy.

The ice cream was ice cold, i did get some ice flakes over it but it didn’t decline the taste of the ice cream which was delicious but the main thing was just about to enter our dining The Molten Lava Fudge. As it arrived my eyes were amazed by the plating, the choice of the plate colour, the rainbow sprinkle border, a small sphere cake which appeared to be a soap by my camera when I was clicking pictures of it and last but not least two scoops of vanilla ice cream. All of this was like a dream I never saw but was in front of my eyes coming true.

I took a spoon and gently pressed it at the top of the cake which lead it to ooze out the chocolate from it just like lava from a volcano.

Once a took the bite of the cake mixed with choco lava sprinkles and ice cream the flavours burst in my mouth that rich hot cocoa flavour with the subtleness of cold vanilla ice cream made me feel “Foodgasm” the first time I observed, tasted and experienced a food item so closely. One of the blessing in disguise memories that I will never forget introduced me to my passionate curiosity world of desserts.
